Famous Artist Eduard Isabekyan (1914-2007) lived a long and prolific life in art. He is justly considered as the founder of the painting of theme-based composition and a unique master of painting art. Eduard Isabekyan graduated from Tbilisi Fine Art Academy. He is the author of a wide range of high-value pieces of monumental art that have gained their unique place in leading art galleries of former Soviet countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eduard Isabekyan<\/strong><\/p>\n

(1914, Igdir \u2013 2007, Yerevan)<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1918, Eduard Isabekyan moved to Yerevan. From 1927 to 1931 he studied at Yerevan technical School of fine arts and industry under S.Arakelian, V. Gajvedjan’s, G. Fermanian’s supervision. In the period between 1935 and 1941 he studied at Tbilisi Academy of Fine Arts at K.Gzelishvily’s studio.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1941, he taught at Yerevan Panos Terlemezian College of Fine Arts. From 1945 on he taught at Yerevan State Institute of Fine Arts and at Yerevan State Pedagogical Institute. In 1963, he earned the title of professor. From 1967 to 1987 he was the Director of Armenian State (currently National) Gallery. In 2002 he was awarded with title of honorary citizen of Yerevan. In 2004, Tekeyan Cultural Association of Armenia awarded Edvard Isabekian the diamond-cast medal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The happiest instance, while watching a perfect piece of art, is when it makes you forget everything \u2013 time, space, matter, theme, and you just see and contemplate, and you enjoy the beauty of the shapes of the piece of art \u2013 without which no authentic piece of art could have ever existed\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

The artist’s artistic perspectives and aesthetics, on a large scale, are based on his education and romanticism. The ultimate summit of achievement in painting is impressonism \u2013 with amazing colour inventiveness and authenticity\u2026 He is also an exclusive composer, brilliant connoisseur of the secrets of classical composition applied in his paintings\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n
